Cathay Asia Miles 70% Bonus (Transfer 12000 Miles Get 8500 Bonus) [Targeted]

Cathay Pacific (Asia Miles) has an ongoing promo until January 31, called “Elevate Your Everyday Rewards.” It’s not immediately obvious if it’s exclusively an earning or transfer bonus, as it seems to be promoting “festive shopping” and the T&Cs use somewhat vague language on what are qualifying activities for earning the miles. I’ve confirmed from Cathay that points transfers are eligible:

Cathay is a transfer partner of major programs including Amex MR, Citi TYP, Capital One Miles, and Marriott Bonvoy.

Members based in Hong Kong and some other areas are not included. Eligible members have been emailed by Cathay and registration through Cathay’s email link is required. Bonus miles will be credited by March 31, 2024. See full terms in Cathay’s email and registration page.

This makes for a very attractive return of 70% bonus miles upon earning or transferring 12000 miles in chunks of three before January 31, 2024. Cathay miles can be very useful for both Cathay and Oneworld partner redemptions.
